Influencer marketing is a great way to reach a wider audience with a higher possibility of conversion because their followers, in some instances, actually trust them enough to act on recommendations.
Here are 4 things you are doing wrong:
1. Giving them a flyer with long English to post – Every influencer has a language they write/speak in. Their audience, many times, are accustomed to receiving information in that language so when contrary information comes in, they shut off. 2ndly, individuals are averse to being sold to so once they smell a sale they gone. Reason you will see 10,000 likes on the influencer’s native post but 322 likes and 6 comments on your own paid post.
2. Selecting influencers based on their following not quality of engagement – We all know that people buy followers right? There are several apps you can use to check the authenticity of their following. That aside, what is the quality of their followers? Spend some time going through their posts. You see, many influencers, especially celebrities, have a large following of students, non-buying crowd, etc. When you read comments on at least 20 of their posts you can come to some level of conclusion on the majority of their followers
3. You use them for one-offs – This is a huge mistake, may I add terrible one?
Engage an influencer you can afford to use more
than once. Seek a barter if the fees will hurt your business account, I.e “can
I pay XYZ and give you the rest in products or my service?” The advantage of
using them more than once is that their audience get used to seeing you and in
the subconscious it registers that this brand is real, let’s even see what they
are selling sef. From “let’s even see” it will become “wow I like this let me
ask price.”
4. No sales funnel for your ads so when they post what do you do?
Sit down and wait for sales to fall on you?
Don’t be a joke!
You can create a simple funnel that tells you what to do whenever you engage an influencer. I.e, Once they post, You re-post within xyz minutes, sleep in the comment section on their post replying everybody who comments etc.
