I use YouTube, a lot and maybe I’ll show you how to use it better too but not in this post.
In this post, I want to tell you about something I watched on YouTube last year, I think it was around June or so.
I had just started scrolling through the channels I’m subscribed to when I saw a video by Gary Vee.
In this video, he made a statement that stuck with me since then and I didn’t share it yet because I was determined to prove it in my own life.
This statement works. And it may help you as much as it helped me.
He said
“The ROI of anything is how good you are at it”.
(For those that may not be familiar with the term, ROI means Return on investment)
Then he used an example of LeBron James.
LeBron James is a pro basketball player with a net worth of 450 million dollars.
He said LeBron James’ ROI for basketball is high, but his own is almost zero because he can’t even take a decent shot.
That is it. I got it at that point. One of the major secrets of commanding higher prices for what you do is how best you can do it. Your confidence in the result you can bring it.
The reason why one person will manage social media pages for N200,000 a month, and another for N5,000 a month.
The reason why it seems nobody is coming to you and going to someone else; you both sell the same thing, offer the same services yet youl’ll be accused of being too expensive only for your competitor to even be paid higher.
The ROI of anything is how good you are at it.
My mentor, Elisha Mamman, had told me that “no garden can become beautiful by mistake. It requires cultivation”
Is it okay to start small? Yes.
In fact, your diligence in small things goes a long way to show how you’ll be diligent in bigger things. Know that the purpose of “small” is to prepare you for “big”.
Define your small, define your objectives for the small, and define how long you want to remain there. There are levels to this thing.
Ask yourself what you need to get to your next level and remember, the ROI of anything is how good you are at it.
